Yes. 2012, the shift of consciousness, is here now… and the answer is yes! Whatever you believe, wherever you stand - light worker, healer, shaman, teacher, cynic, apocalyptic prophet, naysayer, sitter on the fencer…

2012 is, as John Lennon and Paul McCartney sang on the Magical Mystery Tour album, an invitation to make a reservation. An invitation from the universe for us to wake up, show up and say YES!

WHAT IF?

What if it were possible to create a world where there was no war or religion…and by that I mean no culture of war or religion (however that applies to you.) What if there was no poverty? Major diseases cured. What if we could feed the entire world every day? WOW.

INSTANT KARMA.

Never before has it been possible to dream something into being so quickly…. Enlightenment at the speed of an internet connection.

LIVING IN THE AGE OF TRANSFORMATION

We live in an incredible world. Among us are amazing artists, prolific writers, incredible scientists, astonishing, mathematicians, and athletes. WE can do anything we intend to do when we ignite our dreams with desire. This is the Age of Transformation the Maya spoke of.

WE ARE THE PROPHECY WE’VE BEEN WAITING FOR.

So… what are we waiting for?

I know - we all have to work, pay the mortgage, take an extra job, find a baby sitter, go to school, do our homework, clean the yard, walk the dog, and take out the trash.

The above mentioned things are all reactions to events and have cause, effect, attached as karma. They are not proactions. They require our focused intentions and attention, and all are absolutely necessary at this moment. Looked at as the complete things they themselves are, each of these “things” are a response to some already existing cause (event), that is already manifest complete with its own law, effects, attachments and operates within their own unique systems of intelligent consciousness.

“But, Mildred, I’m already awake.” To a degree yes, of course we all are. How conscious of our waking are we, is the question. How comfortably numb have we become? What are the results our forgettingness?

IMAGINE

5 years I made a decision to become the change I wanted to be. I did that how ever I could, with whatever means I had at my disposal that day. As long as I had clear INTENT. Some days, the best I could do was to simply smile at someone pick up the trash I didn’t create, or to just thank God, spirit, the universe for my being able to breathe.

I blessed people I know, and people I didn’t know. I prayed for democrats, republicans, independents, liberals, conservatives, Yankees, Dodgers, Notre Dame, Manchester United, all people everywhere. Period.

I prayed for people whose opinions I thought sucked. I prayed for the people driving my country into the ground. I prayed for people that hated me, I prayed affirmatively for animals, trees, the roof over my head, and the bed I slept in. From that time forward I decided to take no thing for granted and to pray for all beings everywhere.

Still do.

We are all good whole and complete. I believe everyone contributes to their individuated idea of highest good.

December 21, 2012 is the big yet to be.

Nothing has happened…yet.

2012 is an opportunity to be that which we really want to become.

DOING THE NEXT INDICATED THING

5 years ago that was to awaken to the Mayan civilization and by extension all ancient civilizations so I could seek my place out in the great cosmology.

I knew nothing about Mayan culture when I started on my quest. I read books, scoured the internet, wrote, corresponded to scholars, writers, and other people: Anthropologists, archaeologists, spiritual shaman, astrophysicists, astronomers, archaeoastronomers, and teachers.

2012 Eye of the Shaman is my offering to the world. It is what I believe is the noblest idea of what 2012 can be, and the challenges we’re faced with “to get there” - as spiritual beings having a human affair.

December 21, 2012 is a date with our future. Let us awaken and rise to the occasion, so we can say to ourselves and our children in the future we did it. Like Woodstock….only bigger!

Way back in World War I, the United States Governmnet commissioned a top secret study to see if a special Army Nap Corps could bring the war to a quick close without spilling any more messy blood or depriving bright brave men and women of their lives. 

The elite team’s purpose was to snatch victory from the hands of the Huns simply by, as one government scientist put it, making them very, very tired by reading boring bed time stories. He  predicted the enemy would just throw down their arms, grab a blankee, drink a glass of milk,  grab some cookies, and in short order, that would be that.

Unpredictable Results

An unforeseen problem developed during initial field tests.  Behavioral scientists noticed that all forms of napping, including brief power naps created a “warm snugly feeling” whilst promoting an pleasant air of good feeling and jolly well being. ” They also noted, “After napping, soldiers were generally happy and wanted no part of the bloody war.”  

Dangerous Peace-Seeking Weapon Banned by Warring Nations

In an emergency session at the League of Nations, all napping experimentation was shut down once and for all. Napping was banned by the Geneva Convention citing that the Peace-Seeking Weapon was a dangerous escalation in the quest for a real and lasting peace. It would furthermore undermine plans for world conquest by all “good and proper thinking” war mongering nations, and threaten profits in the oil, arms, and banking sectrors that thrive on death and destruction for financial gain.

Life in the cabin. 

December was cold. 

Not New York damp moist air whipped into a frenzy in a maze of tall buildings cold. Not Boston cold that is a sharp punch of frozen north wind infused with salt scrapped off the harbor that feels like daggers .  No, Kagel Canyon was  different. Wind raced over canyons, small trees bent in reverence and pine trees whistled. I shivered with the cold uncertainty of starting over.  

The phone company screwed up, DSL wouldn’t be in for days.  Stacks of  brown  boxes and smoky see-through containers  were piled high outside. Nothing fit. Until I discovered the great space of small places.

More letting go.

That’s the secret.

DSL doesn’t matter when I’m cold. Neither does, phone call, or much else. Fire was top priority - in my 21st century world it was all coming back to the basics: Fire, Water, Food -  shelter.  Fire became my focus. That focus shifted everything.

The cold I was feeling was wasn’t only an external cold. The cold I feelt was me, peeling away layers of thoughts and ideas that no longer served me symbolized by boxes of past thoughts and choices piled high outside for me to see. I shivered in my nakedness.

Before the cabin became available, I had no place to go, and I was having trouble reconciling this truth.  My best thinking brought me here.  Pasadena drained me. The bankrupcy was hell. Going through was painful. But on there other side I found a new freedom.  I will never do that again. There is no way I will saddle myself into debt. In that moment I chose not to be a hamster on a wheel running to generate money to support “things” that kept me powerless.

In Pasadena I lived for house  payments, car payments, utility payments - credit card payments and came to the conclusion I was bound to a system. I became a slave. 

A NATION IN DEBT IS NOT FREE.

Read it again and again until the alarm clock of reality says hello.

America cannot be the land of the free when the people are tied to banks, or mortgage companies, or any other institution. 

 Graduates leave college sometimes 5 to 6 figures in debt.  They work to pay the bill.  When they pay on time, banks smell a ” good customer” a/k/a/ sucker, so they offer them credit cards as a “reward” for being a good payer so they can ”enjoy the finer things of life.”  We smile back at the banks as our arms and legs are bound to the atm machine. FOREVER.

Unable to pay off those so called luxury things right off - since they are big ticket items, people fall into more debt. But it’s OK. They can drive a cool car, have a big screen TV,  boast a fancy place to live -and get more credit. 

 Freedom is having nothing left to loose.

The fear of loosing something or not being able to have something  is the underlying driver of our economy.

Life Changes.

I was finding it increasingly hard to relate to my past life - the countless number of old routines – how I wake up, how I bathe, where I get dressed,  how I prepare my meals, my work, where I  meditate, all no longer work. The sooner I stop trying to solve my new challenges with my old thoughts would be precisely when I would warm up.

When I realized no thing was lacking, no thing was off schedule, no thing was wrong…in that moment, I became enlightened and the world belonged to me.

All Life Is Fire.

I stared at the fire place. There is something about not having any options that makes things crystal clear.  If I want to get warm - I needed to make a fire. To do that I must chop wood.

Love is fire in heart.

Fire became metaphor for my new way of life. I found out fire was number 1. DSL

A spark of love leads to a heart afire.  Love kindles a flame in a cold heart. We all have our old flames. We play with fire.  None of us want to get burned, but we do.  We’re consumed by love.  Burning desire.  Where there is smoke, there is fire.  Ashes to ashes. We’ve found our match!

I also discovered that there are specific steps and ingredients to building a fire. No matter how cold I was, nor how quickly I wanted the fire to ignite, I had to to follow the steps. That often meant learning patience which translated as starting over and over, and over until I aligned with the steps.

Napping is a way of life. I’ve gotten quite good at it over the years, and I am going to share my proven and time tested napping tips and techniques with you as time goes by.

Napping is the future of triathlon sports

A triathlon is an endurance sports event consisting of swimming, cycling and running over various distances.

In most modern triathlons, these events are placed back-to-back in immediate sequence and a competitor’s official time includes the time required to “transition” between the individual legs of the race, including any time necessary for changing clothes and shoes. As a result, proficiency in swimming, cycling, and running alone is not sufficient to guarantee a triathlete a competitive time: trained triathletes have learned to race each stage in a way that preserves their energy and endurance for subsequent stages.

Napping has all the qualities of an Olympic sport.

Many people consider themselves marathon runners, joggers, hikers, bikers or some such thing other thingee.  I’m a long distance napper, and very proud of this accomplishment.  I’d like to see napping get the same kind of respect other competitive sports get.

Like any athlete, no matter what the sport,  I train rigorously  on a strict regimen. Dring plenty of water, watch between meal treats and nap, nap, nap.

Great nappers are born to nap! Over the years I’ve refined my style and built stamina for distance and speed. You’re probably wondering, and I don’t blame you one bit, how did it all begin.

My Personal Napping Memoirs

My napping career began freshman year at Boston University. We theatre design majors worked long hours at the theatre on Commonwealth Ave. When I wasn’t hanging lights, building or painting scenery for credit, I worked at local theatres and clubs.

It began in Theatre History.

 All credit is due to  a wonderful old gentleman named Elliott Norton, my Theatre History professor. Mr. Norton was considered to be the “Dean of American Theatre Critics” and was thought of by many to be the last of the great regional reviewers who had considerable sway over Broadway bound fare in its hay day.

Elliot wrote for many Boston Papers over the years, most defunct or merged. I think he wrote for The Boston Herald American, now The Boston Herald, when I took his class. He was an elegant man, way too impeccably dressed for the bell-bottom 70’s, and much too talkative for 7 AM.

I sat in back by a steam radiator. At about 7:03 A.M when Elliot started opining on Greek Tragedies or talked about deus ex machina, or elaborated on William Shakespeare,  I was set.  I had all the ingredients for a great nap at my fingertips:

a physical need coupled with an overwhelming desire infused with motivation.

I know of no other sport that is worthier to be considered for inclusion in the Olympics…or at the very least the X games.

Napping is the perfect sport to bring our world together!

Napping is a full participation sport anyone and everyone can enjoy. Um, there are no costly accessories, yet, no special footwear, yet, and no restrictions about age, size, or weight to participate. Doesn’t need FCC approval, it’s tax exempt, doesn’t require a permit or business license, no special skill set is required, no costly 4 year college degrees  that will saddle you with debt for a long, long time, there are absolutely no exclusions,  and it’s approved by doctors every where! What other sport can make this boast?

In a word, none.

Like many I had gotten into more debt that I could deal with. The unthhinkable occurred.  The once ”unsinkable” California real estate marked sunk.

I had gotten into a real pickle. I owed more than my house was worth. As credit interest kept piling up I was slowly getting crushed under a mountain of debt.

Business was, um, sucking, I blew through my scant savings, prudent reserve and equity.  A big life change and life transision was about to begin.

None of my options were looking too pretty.  

I was basically f&*ked.

As a rescuer of animals I had a fur family. Two dogs, two cats. All with “issues”. My boy dog LUKE, was so freaked out when I rescued him, he wouldn’t come out of my room for the first year and a half I had him.

As many who’ve visited, or even tried to walk in front of the house, will tell you - Luke barks. BIG. I couldn’t see me in an apartment, no matter how sound proof it was.

By the time December rolled around, the house was at auction and I had a feeling I was going to be living in an SUV. I was broke.

My friend Jill knew someone who had a cozy cabin.  Cozy, in real estate jargon means thimble sized in the real world.

One room.

I gulped real hard.  Here I was, a guy with 2 dogs and 2 cats, I lived in a three room house with a complete office for EyeLight, The Bumper Foundation and the Harold B. Rhodes Music Foundation - 3 computers, 2 printers, a plotter, scanners. Then there was the cubic tons of books. Spiritual book, Mayan refrence books for 2012 EYE OF THE SHAMAN, dog books for BUMPER and LUKE SEARCH AND RESDUCE  DOG HERO 

Then there was the garage. It was so packed full of EYELIGHT stuff it was impossible to walk in.  A video camera package, lights and sound, grip gear, stands, for.

Did I say anything about the furniture or art yet?

I think by now the picture is rather well illuminated: 10 tons of stuff and a zip-loc bag sized cabin.

It was quite a yard sale.

When I moved to Pasadena in 2000, it was stil relatively quiet. When I left it was booming. Builders building buildings where ever they can.  A posh new shopping mall. Multi-storey buildings springing up all over town. If you can’t build out, gonna have to build up…just like the traffic.

I loved living in Pasadena except during Rose Bowl Parade season rolled around the calendar. When campers and suvs from all over the midwest, or Texas jamed the streets, hogged all the parking, and created unteneable waits at most retaurants….not that I was eating out at the time, but sheesh just the same… it gets crowded.

We are at a critical juncture in the timeline of our world. Conscious beings around the globe know what’s at stake and appreciate the implications of the diverse predictions regarding this key date.

No matter what your individual world view is, everyone must acknowledge by now we are in an age of great transformation. The message in 2012 EYE OF THE SHAMAN is that on December 21, 2012, the outpicturing of reality will be anything we can collectively imagine. This collective energy, this focused thinking will bring transformation.  All across our planet, all people are awakening.
