Richard Oshen’s Newest Screenplay Penny from Heaven Showcased at 2025 San Diego International Kids’ Film Festival
Forest Falls, CA — Writer Richard Oshen will present his heartwarming new screenplay PENNY FROM HEAVEN at the 2025 San Diego International Kids’ Film Festival. Selected for the festival’s Screenplay Showcase, a portion of the story will be performed live by professional actors on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 7:00–8:00 PM at the Carlsbad Senior Center.
Penny from Heaven follows a pup-turned-angel-in-training who returns to a forgotten farm full of neglected animals, offering them—and herself—a second chance at love, purpose, and redemption. With its gentle humor and emotional depth, the screenplay is already resonating with readers.
Comfort for Kids, Healing for All: Why I Wrote Penny from Heaven
“This story is deeply personal,” says Oshen. “I wrote Penny from Heaven during a time when I was coping with the immeasurable loss of a beloved pet. It’s a heartwarming tale of healing, hope, and the quiet magic of second chances—and I hope it brings smiles through the tears to anyone facing the same kind of heartbreak.”
“All angels have wings—the best ones have fur.”
Oshen’s story invites readers to reflect on compassion, grief, and the enduring bond between humans and their animal companions.
It’s a tribute to love that never fades—and the light that can follow loss.
