As a kid, I was fascinated by the night sky. One year, someone gave me a telescope, and I couldn’t wait to try it out. I set it up on our front lawn, pointed it toward the heavens, and shouted myself hoarse when I found the moon!
But the real excitement came one night when, by sheer dumb luck, I spotted Saturn. Rings and all!
I must have made quite a racket because before I knew it, half the neighborhood was standing on our lawn, waiting for a peek through my telescope.
That sense of wonder never left me. Even now, when I look up at the stars, I feel a little of that same excitement I felt as a kid.
And sooner or later, the question always comes back.
Is anybody out there?
That little question eventually grew into Space Cat.
What if someone out there was looking for us, too? What if they came to Earth not to conquer us, but because they needed our help?
And what if the only person willing to help was a kid who never quite fit in?
That’s where the Space Cat begins.
